The genealogy of Jesus may be boring to read, but it’s so very important that both Matthew and Luke record variations of it. The primary purpose of the genealogies is to prove unequivocally that Jesus fulfills the pedigree and prophesies of the expected Messiah. But, there are 42 generations listed here.
