June 2, 2019: Things don’t always work out the way we think they should, even for the people of God. We’ve all faced episodes in the Christian life where we thought, “this isn’t how it was supposed to be!” Jesus’ followers were perplexed and discouraged as well by events like Judas’ betrayal, Jesus’ crucifixion, and the delay of His Kingdom as they thought it should come. As our church wrestles with what God is doing in our life, can we learn from how these early Christians handled the confusion and uncertainty in the days after Christ’s ascension?
